Late April/early May 1998, Verena began promotion for the follow up single to “Finally Alone” titled “Heartbeat”. Unlike her first solo single, “Heartbeat” was a full-on dance pop song and the Maxi-Single was backed with a number of remixes intended for the clubs.

However, strangely, the release was withdrawn from schedules just before the intended release date and Verena stopped all promotion for the single. Fortunately for fans, the record company had already pressed numerous copies of the Maxi-Single, and they could get their hands on some copies.

Did you know?

• During the promotional tour for “Heartbeat”, Verena indicated in an interview with VIVA Interaktiv that work was underway on her debut album and it was likely that it would be released by the end of the summer.
• The video for “Heartbeat” was shot in Miami (USA) by director Patrick Kielly during her stay for her VJ work for VIVA (German TV channel).
