A cover of the 1968 single by the band ‘Aphrodite’s Child’, “Rain & Tears” saw Verena firmly returning to her happy hardcore/techno roots. Appearing in 2002 on the “edel Records” label, production was credited to the ‘Vvs DJ Team’ and the Maxi-Single contained remixes by some well-known producers including ‘DJs@Work’.
However, this release ultimately suffered the same fate as “Heartbeat” and “Sky (Follow Me)” before it, having its release cancelled. Apparently, the track had received poor feedback from DJs and “edel Records” pulled the plug on the release, fearing a chart flop. Luckily some copies of the Maxi-Single had been produced for promotional purposes, allowing fans to get their hands on the release.

- Many people incorrectly credit either “2 Brothers On The 4th Floor – There Is A Key” or “Argonauts – Virtual Dreams” as the inspiration for this song. While these songs share the same melody as “Rain & Tears”, the melody of all three tracks comes from Aphrodite’s Child’s “Rain & Tears”.
- The 12” vinyl includes a unique mix, the ‘Original Club Mix’, that is not found on the promo Maxi-Single
