Following the return of Verena Von Strenge to the project in 1999, DUNE commenced work on a new album, to be titled ‘Reunion’. The album release was planned for early/mid 2000. It was preceded by two singles, “Dark Side Of The Moon” (released November 1999) and “Heaven” (planned for March 2000).
Unfortunately, due to the legal issues surrounding the release of “Heaven”, DUNE was left with the difficult decision of cancelling the album release. This followed discussions with the record label, who didn’t see any ‘hits’ in the songs already recorded. Accordingly, all work ceased on the album. Verena departed the group soon thereafter.

Release Cancelled
Did you know?
- When work on the “Reunion” album stopped, the tracks that were completed with Verena (except “Heaven”) were released on album “History – The Very Best Of” as bonus tracks.
- After the release of “Heaven” was cancelled, Dune wanted to release “Back To The Future” in place of “Heaven”; however, the record company would not agree to this, seeing no hit potential in the song.
