“Forever” is the fourth album by DUNE. It was released in January 1997 by Orbit Records and marked a dramatic change in style for the techno group. It also marked the final studio album with Verena von Strenge as a member of the group.
Following the massive success of the single “Who Wants To Live Forever” (No. 2 in Germany), DUNE decided to record a full album with the London Session Orchestra at Abbey Road studios in London. The album contains eight covers of famous pop songs from a wide variety of artists including Queen, Depeche Mode, Phil Collins, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Prince, along with eight original instrumental pieces played on the piano.
Like “Who Wants To Live Forever”, “Forever” was a massive chart success spending 6 weeks in the German Top 10 (peaking at No. 2), and nearly four months on the chart in total. The album sold in excess of 250,000 copies and was awarded a gold disc by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (Federal Music Industry Association). It also reached the Austrian Top 10 (No. 4) and peaked at No. 11 in Switzerland.

- In order to also appeal to the target group of the famous 60-man orchestra, a limited number of the CDs were provided with an extra cardboard sleeve. A special edition was even produced for the cassette.
- The recording session found place in the famous ‘The Beatles’ Abby Road Studios in London and the band Depeche Mode, DUNE covered their “Somebody” song through this session, were also recording here at the same time and they give their compliments for DUNE’s version of it.
